Salem Christian School began operation in 1996 as a preschool and kindergarten and
has added a grade each year since then. The school now employs more than 25 staff members and has
grown to over 150 students - God has truly blessed our school over the past eleven years in
unbelievable ways.
Salem Christian School operates in conjunction with Salem Baptist Church. Salem Baptist
has made Salem Christian a part of its total ministry and the school will operate in
unity with policies set by the church.
The school is coordinated by an administrator under the guidance of an administrative
board. The school assistant principal under the direction of the administrator provides oversight
of the daily activities of our students, parents and staff.
The teachers and assistant teachers are selected on the basis of their educational
background, christian character, love for children and ability to work effectively with
people. Teachers are state certified or working toward state certification and each staff
member has a health form and a criminal record check on file.
Salem Christian school is dedicated to providing the best education possible for students.
Two basic curricula are used, students in the 3 and 4 year old preschool use the WEE and
Abeka programs. Students in the K-5 use mostly Abeka, while our middle and high school
students use books
from other publishers, including Christian Schools International and Bob Jones. The WEE pogram is provided through the Southern Baptist. Both of
these programs are excellent as academic and biblical teaching tools.
Tuition
Salem Christian School offers the following programs for the specified monthly tuition
rates (there are ten monthly tuition payments for K-12th grades, and nine monthly payments
for preschool). There are additional book fees for each of the programs.
Parents may choose to pay tuition on a 12-month system. The goal is to reduce the
monthly bills by stretching tuition over a longer period. In order to take advantage of
this new program, tuition payments must be made starting in the month of June preceding
the coming school year.
Registration for new students for the 2008-2009 school year at Salem Christian School
begin February 1st, 2008. All parents are asked to fill out the application
for enrollment and mail it to the above address with a non-refundable application fee of
$50.00 (PreK 3-4) and $75 (K-12th). Returning students do NOT need to pay the application fee unless they are asked to reapply. Please make checks payable to Salem Christian School.
Enrollment verification and other information will be sent to you within a few weeks of
receiving your application.
Note: Upon acceptance, a registration fee of $50.00 for pre-school and $100.00 for
kindergarten through twelfth grade will be required. Registrations after April 1st
will be required to pay a registration fee of $75 for pre-school and $150 for K-12th grade. Returning students must pay a
registration fee each year. All students must pay a non-refundable confirmation of
registration fee within 10 days of receiving the acceptance letter to secure a position
at SCS. All families in grades K-12th grade must furthermore pay a one-time $500 family
fee. Preschool families must pay $100 for each year of preschool with the remainder of
the $500 due upon acceptance into our kindergarten program.
Salem Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin
to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made
available to students at the school. SCS does not discriminate on the basis of race,
color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies,
admissions policies, and athletic and other school-administrated programs.
The monthly (10 months) tuition prices for the 2008-2009 school year are:
Pre-school Program:
3yr. Olds/2days a week: $135.00
4yr. Olds/3days a week: $150.00

If tuition is paid in full by June 1, 2008 parents receive a discount of 10%. If tuition
is paid in full by September 1, 2008 parents receive a discount of 5%.
Tuition payments are due on the first day of the month. Payments received after the
first day of the month will incur a 10% late fee.
