Home-school Students
Salem Christian School recognizes and respects the decision that some parents have made to be the prime educators of their child(ren). SCS also recognizes that some home-school parents may need a Christian educational institution to come alongside them to assist them in the educational process. It is our pleasure to offer supplemental junior high and high school classes for home-school students.
The classes offered at Salem Christian School are designed to be supplemental in nature. Home-school students will receive credit from Salem Christian School for classes taken in which the student has met all the requirements set forth by the school. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion along with a grade for all subjects in which these requirements have been met. Each home-school parent assumes the responsibility of meeting all state requirements for their child as their prime educator.
Sports
Home-school students may participate in sports through our athletic department. Students participating in varsity sports are required to be enrolled in three academic classes (9th-11th grade) and two academic classes (12th grade). All seasons require a $100 Sports Fee.
Graduation
Homeschool students enrolled in supplemental classes at SCS are encouraged to participate in our graduation commencement services. Home-school students will receive a Certificate of Completion from SCS. Home-school parents may also choose to present the students home-school diploma for high school at this time.
Block Scheduling
SCS operates under a 4-Block Schedule with 2 or 3 days/week courses. The 3 day courses will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and the 2 day courses are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. SCS courses are taught on a year-to-year rotation.
Cost
We know you value your child's education and here at SCS, we do too! We maintain a low cost of tuition and fees so that you can have an affordable Christ-centered option for your homeschooling needs. The tuition is $250/block:
2-day courses: $500/year
3-day courses: $700/year
Each course will require a curriculum fee that is given according to the needs of the course.
Students taking four or more subjects will be considered a full time student and must pay full tuition.
In addition to the tuition, there are three fees in the process of applying for SCS:
Application fee: $25
Registration fee: $50
Family fee: $100 (this is a one time fee)
